Could we begin with a brief history of yourself and your team, and your roles at SolPAD and what you were doing before SolPAD?

Sure!

I shall start with myself. I am the CMO of SolPAD. I graduated with a major in Finance, started my career in investment banking, ventured into the insurance industry and finally landed in this great crypto industry back in the year 2019. I was the Country Manager of SnapEx in Vietnam, a crypto trading platform with a strong presence especially in Asian region.

Our Ceo is Rayane, he graduated with a Master of science in Business entrepreneurship & innovation. He was CEO & founder of Magna Numeris, a blockchain startup based in Paris. Magna Numeris focused on building decentralised applications for retail, bringing traditional companies from web 2.0 to web 3.0.

Next will be the CTO, Mr Abdelhamid . He is an experienced technology guy with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Skilled in Management, BlockChain, DevOps, Software as a Service (SaaS), Micro Services, and Agile Product and 4 years working at Google where he has a lot of experience in professional project management.

I first knew about crypto back in 5–6 years ago, while I was still in the traditional finance industry. One of my friends told me about Bitcoin but I didn’t pay much attention at that time (since I came from “traditional finance” back then). Then the industry went through the bull run in the year of 2017, which really caught my attention. Finally I decided to take up the job offer when an opportunity to jump into this industry arised. Since then, I never look back.

How did SolPAD start?

Julian Ong

SolPAD started with a very simple idea, to provide an alternative to current market situation, especially the spiked fees and delayed transactions due to the network congestion. As we can see, the congestion on Ethereum networks have caused high gas fees, which actually deter users from joining in the crypto industry. This is especially important for the new crypto users, where the “joining cost” is very sensitive and decisive. With the skyrocketed growth in Binance Smart Chain, we foresee the same thing will happen over BSC. Hence, we come out with the idea of launching a Solana-based Launchpad. High performances, cheap fees and growing ecosystem are among the factors that make us to pick Solana to go for SolPAD.

That’s fantastic — I think all of us here have felt the pain and frustration with gas fees and are all looking forward to the speeds of the Solana network. In fact, our FA dept. have singled out Solana for a report that is coming out real soon. 👀

How would you describe SolPAD if you were talking to someone unfamiliar with digital assets?

Exactly!

SolPAD is a Solana-based Launchpad. Launchpad in the crypto world, works like a combination of “IPO (initial public offering) in the traditional finance world and a crowdfunding platform (for example kickstarter). Projects can choose to raise funds on SolPAD by issuing the relevant digital assets (tokens) to the buyers.

First, we are aiming to be the first launchpad on Solana. As we mentioned earlier, due to issues on other networks, we are expecting Solana to be the “next big thing”.

Second, we will be doing a multichain Dex. We understand Solana is still a new player, hence bridging across multiple networks is necessary to succeed in this industry.

Third, we will be doing a fair allocation to our PAD holders which will guarantee their allocations of IDO on SolPAD.

Fourth, we are a team with individuals’ experience in different aspects of the crypto industry as well as influences over different regions. Put all of us together, we shall make something happen.

Fifth, we are well supported by well-known VCs and Influencers. For example, Crypto Society. Recognition from every respected party like these put us in a very good position in the market,

And last but not least, because we are SolPAD.

What is the SolPAD token used for? Can you describe Tokenomics and features such as staking etc…?

SolPAD’s ecosystem is powered by the PAD token that enables a number of unique mechanics and potent flows of monetizable utility to its holders and, most importantly, powers the SolPAD’s governance layer. PAD is SolPad Utility Token running on Solana (SPL). PAD token is having multiple purposes within SolPAD

-Voting with the Token

-Governing with the Token

-Staking

-Liquidity Mining

And within the Ecosystem :

-Listing at SolPAD App wallet

-Airdrop to PAD holder users

-Staking to participate in SolPad IDO

-Incentives/ Liquidity Rewards: will be used to reward those who provide Liquidity to our Farming platform

Your website says that you have made sure that Bots can’t compete with humans for allocations on the SolPAD launchpad- how do you achieve this?

Julian Ong

Other than the seaweed tier (lowest tier), the other four tiers will have the allocations split equally. In another word, every investor stands an equal chance of grabbing the allocations of each IDO on SolPAD.

When do you plan to achieve being the first IDO platform integrating all major Layer 1 chains. 👀

Julian Ong

We will integrate ERC and BSC by the end of next quarter, if everything goes as scheduled. We are also exploring the NEAR and Avalanche Blockchain, and hopefully will be finished before end of the year.

What are you currently working on and can you describe your future roadmap?

Julian Ong

We have actually finished our first core product — the launchpad. It’s scheduled to be online soon. Technically speaking, the first IDO on SolPAD will be our tokens — the PAD tokens, which will be on 2nd June. We are in the process of developing the multichain AMM Dex, which is scheduled to be released in the next quarter. Our multi-chain wallet should be available by next year, which is the year 2022.

By using the DAO structure, PAD holders can use PAD to participate in Governance decisions of the platform, such as deciding pools ratio on upcoming IDO, or vote which IDO will be launch on SolPad

Could you please provide us with some challenges SolPAD has faced but overcome?

Julian Ong

As ERC, BSC and Solana have different programming languages, it’s quite tricky to integrate all these together. Luckily, we have a strong dev team. They have worked hard for the solutions and we have successfully overcome the challenges.

Another thing is the difficulty of communication due to the covid-19. As we’re a global team made up of people from different regions, for instance our CEO is in Europe, CMO and CTO are from Asia, differences in time zones have caused some problems. However, we are a team, we want to work hard together to be able achieve the goals as a whole. Sometimes, we will host meetings/discussions at midnight.

For example, it’s actually midnight in my time zone now haha

Where do you see the SolPAD project next year?

By the time, we hope SolPAD will have our three core features available, with Solana blockchain and all the promising newcomers (DFINITY, AVAX, etc…) launching more and more powerful protocols working in these low fee and efficient chains. Ethereum, which for sure is a fantastic chain, is getting so much attention that it has clogged the network, but its fee rise caused so many talented teams and developers to slow down or even stop their personal projects.
