Could we begin with a brief history of yourself and your team, and your roles at Gems and what you were doing before Gems?

My name is Andy Koh from Singapore and currently based in Vietnam. I am the CEO and co-founder of GEMS, which is an Esports 3.0 aggregator platform within an O2O ecosystem.

My background has always been in the Esports, tech, and hotel industries. I have 20 years of experience in the IT and Esports industry. I believe GEMS would become the ultimate destination for gamers that integrates the young population into the new sharing economy.

Very quickly; what are Esports? In general.

Esports have many definitions and perceptions by others. For GEMS, is actually ESPORTS + BLOCKCHAIN. In this case ESPORTS means competitive competition through online games.

So we decided to name it ESPORTS 3.0=ESPORTS + BLOCKCHAIN

Our main objective is to become the next STEAM version but in this case BLOCKCHAIN STEAM version.

Where we connect gamers, companies and merchants (Gamefi, Metaverse and Socialfi blockchain projects).

What is GEMS advantage over its competitors?

I am glad that I am answering this over AMA but surely I won’t mind to stand in front of my competitors to also ask them join me instead.

So first of all, BLOCKCHAIN projects are mainly ONLINE product hence in order to out reach to users where language could poised a challenge. We decided to adopt a O2O (Online — Offline) business model;

Through our offline hotel, we can help many projects to do marketing and attract gamers to their games.

Another example where users can also can QR code from their phone and download P2E games.

Kindly describe O2O and what that means? And how do Hotels fit into the equation.

O2O means Online 2 Offline. So first we build a online platform that focus on ESPORTS.

We are onboarding traditional gamers by offering traditional and esports tournament creation on GEMS. So adopting a hybrid duo platform that allow non-crypto and crypto gamers, we are confident that such a system will resolve the blockchain complexity by making blockchain fun and easy to understand for all type of gamers.

We are seeing a strong movement and trend from traditional hotel equipping with high end PC to serve the hungry needs of PC gaming hoteliers. Therefore with GEMS and other partners we collaborate together to help hotel do the ESPORTS transformation.

By doing so we are also allowing GEMS to be broadcast and being use by many targeted audience of ours in this case gamers, players etc.

Will people need to buy an NFT to start playing Gems?

Nope. We are a platform hence NFT is not necessary. However we offer 2 great financial Web 3.0 tools for you to easily own NFT for investment or to use those NFT to enter play-2-earn games.

Tell us about the NFT bridge and the interoperability it will bring.

NFT Bridging works by way of having NFT tokens whitelisted & minted as “Bridged Collections” on the other networks.

Technically, this is how NFT Bridging works: A user deposits an NFT into a Smart Contract of Network A. The NFT gets locked. Afterwards, the user has to get signatures from the oracles who will confirm that the deposit was made in network A. With these signatures, the user can call the same contract in network B where a duplicate NFT will be minted & sent to the user.

the whole interoperability benefit it will bring is to reach a wider audience and give NFTs more exposure through cross-chain capabilities.
